There are quite a few ways to market a product online, such as banners, PPC, cost of action, etc. You only need to select the one that appeals to you. Adwords uses pay per click and no other online pay per click companies can touch it. Adwords is but one out of many PPC companies, but Adwords is by far the best. This is one platform that can give you an edge over the competition and help you drive targeted traffic that converts.
Don’t use content targeting, as that’s the first trick of the trade you’ll learn about. Most of the new AdWords advertisers have no idea how much harm not turning it off can do. Google search partners should be reserved for when you have a little more experience, and you should instead focus your attention to the people who use Google search. If you don’t turn content targeting off, you may find yourself spending much more than you wanted to. While clicks are what you’re after, you’re also after conversions, sales and leads, which is why it’s imperative that you do this when starting out.
You will want to link your ad to a landing page that relates to your overall theme. In other words, if your ad is pointing to a random page that’s only going to confuse the visitor, there’s no use spending that money on AdWords. Your home page is another page you don’t want your ads linking to. So, if you have an ad that is trying to see a martial arts ebook, you could have ads that send people to the landing page with the actual sales information on it that will effectively market the book.
When you’re using Google AdWords for your advertising needs, you aren’t doing it for free. That’s why you always want to watch your ROI, or return on investment. That’s why tracking your converts is so important to your overall success.
The conversion ration standard is one percent, or one lead, sale or action for every one hundred people that click on your ad. For example, if your CPC is fifty cents, then one hundred clicks should be fifty dollars. You’ll want to always concentrate on increase those that convert because you’ll want to make your money back from your investment.
So Adwords isn’t simple, but it’s not difficult either as long as you know what steps to take. If you are hoping to make money with Adwords, the above tricks of the trade can assist you but you must make sure you’re not limiting yourself. Just test and change slightly as you go to increase your chances.
